Hi, shortly after my husband left the house this morning, the phone rang, much to my surprise it was him. He told me that a bear was just hit by a car on Hwy. 35 just down the road from us. I did not believe him at first. Bears should still be hibernating since Puxetany Phil says we have six more weeks of winter. So I jumped in my car with the camera in hand, and sure enough there the bear was laying on the side of the road. The DNR had just finished tagging it. I jumped out of my car and snapped a picture of him. If you have a weak stomach you may not want to look. Just as I was done taking the picture a pick-up truck pulled up and took him. Since I was up and about with my camera I decided to go and take a snap shot of a giant snowman that someone built about a month ago. He was sporting a top hat at one point, but it must have blown off in the wind. I still think he is cool looking.
