~ Vacation Is Almost Over ~

Hi everyone, it has been a very long week, but fun filled week. Our friends were here visiting from West Bend, Wisconsin. I learned how to make different kinds of muffins. We made Zuchinni, Bannana, and Pumpkin muffins. My favorite is the Pumpkin ones. I also helped my friend set up her photography web site over at Zenfolio. It is a wonderful company. They are constantly adding and improving their site. My friends photography blog can be found at http://lifetimememories.zenfolio.com/ Go over and check it out. The guys did some bow hunting even though the weather did not cooperate. They both shot small bucks and were unsuccessful at tracking a blood trail due to the rain washed away any signs of blood they could have tracked. Other than that we sat back and enjoyed each others company, and had several laughs. It is always sad when they have to leave ;~(

Don't forget to turn your clocks back this evening for day light savings time. I hate this time of year. It gets dark so early. If I get home late from work, it is dark when I leave for work and then dark when I arrive home.

Now onto a very sad note. The husband of the director of nursing at my work was diagnosed with skin cancer, he had a small mole on the inner part of his thigh which turned out to be cancerous. He was doing immunotherapy injections, and had a PET Scan a few months back which showed there was no cancer and things were looking very good. He just recently went in for a follow up PET Scan, and the cancer has come back and invaded into his stomach and lymph nodes. Things are not looking good at this time. Treatment options sound like they are really difficult and extremely hard to tolerate. My heart goes out to their entire family. I also just spoke with one of my best friends that had a mamogram done, and they have called her to come back in and have it repeated because they found what they are calling a dark spot. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is just and imaging error. I am so tired of the word Cancer. It seems like everytime I turn around someone else I know is being diagnosed with some form of cancer. I am tired of loosing family and friends to this crap.

Well, the weather around here isn't much better. It rained the entire week, and now this morning we had a cold front move through, and instead of rain we got a dusting of snow and cold temperatures to start the day. Yuck!

I am going to sign off for now. Enjoy your day.
